Help Us Complete This Film!
Ten Seconds Film, Ltd. – a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization – is the fiscal sponsor of Do I Look Like Your Wife?, a 12-miinute film honoring the victims of the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The film celebrates the compassion and selflessness exhibited by complete strangers towards each other on that day, regardless of race, religion, color or creed.
The Dartmouth College Connection
The story, written by Jay MacNamee, Dartmouth '77, was inspired by the actions of two of his classmates who were in the south tower that morning – Bob Overhiser and Joe Flounders. (See the History section in About.) The film has been shot, edited, and is currently in post-production in collaboration with the college's DREAM Studio and its Department of Film & Media Studies. This partnership will give current students the opportunity to learn new skills and put them into practice for a worthy cause. They will work closely not only with their instructors but outside experts, including editors, composers, and special effects artists. They will also be compensated so they can legitimately claim a professional film credit.
Donations Are Still Needed
The film has a total budget of just under $60,000. More than half of that has already been raised, including significant contributions from Jay, Bob, and others. Those funds were used to hire a professional cast and crew, rent a studio, shoot the film, and edit it.
We need $26,700 to complete the film.
Are you aware that, starting in 2026, people who do not itemize on their federal tax returns will be able to deduct $1,000–$2,000 in charitable contributions? We would need just 267 alums to donate $100 each, or 27 to donate $1,000 each, or one generous alum to tell their Donor Advised Fund to create a challenge grant or underwrite the entire project. All donors will be listed in the film's credits, while contributors of significant amounts will be offered the title of Executive Producer.
How Will My Donation Be Used?
1. To fund the the films's post-production, which includes the final edit, music composition and recording, sound mixing, animation, compositing, color correction, fees, E&O insurance, and more.
2. To cover expenses incurred by Dartmouth's DREAM Studio and Department of Film & Media Studies.
3. To provide students with an honorarium so they can legitimately claim a professional film credit on their CVs.
Won't you please help? Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
NB: This Is A Completely Charitable Endeavor
While the professionals and students who work on the film will be compensated, neither the writer, producers, nor backers will receive a dime. Any revenue the film generates will go to Ten Seconds Film, Ltd. If you donate, you will not receive any financial return on your investment; you will be reinforcing the mission of this film, honoring our classmates, and supporting the Dartmouth students who work on it.
